In this serene tour, we will visit beautiful gardens in and around Portland and walk along an historic promenade overlooking the Willamette River. Gardens include a private hillside landscape and the Crystal Springs Rhododendron garden. There will be discourse on history and sustainability along the way!
This tour will explore some of the famous and infamous writers who called Portland home, from National Book Award winners, Poet Laureates, cook book pioneers, basement-dwelling beat poets, and more! This is a potentially interactive experience, and we invite guests to bring readings of work they enjoy based on a theme. We will visit both iconic and little-known Portland sites on this van tour with stops.
This tour will take us through the early history of theatre in Portland. We will see samples of performance styles, and learn about some of the players and playhouses that made Portland a thriving city of arts. Robust slide show included. This is a van tour with points of interest stops along the way.

Take a 1.5 hour guided kayak tour to Willamette Falls (non-experienced paddlers are welcome). View nature (osprey! herons!) and hear the history of Oregon City along the way. Ride the historic municipal elevator to the fascinating McLoughlin Promenade for a picturesque view from above of the area where we just kayaked.
Your group will be transported along scenic Columbia River historic highway to view engineering marvels and scenic vistas. You will experience the spray of majestic waterfalls. Then you'll arrive at Maryhill Museum of Art, with remarkable architecture, rich history and eclectic collection. Lunch provided. Then we will travel to the full scale Stonehenge replica.
